Join artist Heidi Jensen for an artist talk about Landlooker, her exhibition on view in the Loft Gallery at Delaware Valley Arts Alliance through October 25. Jensen’s work explores logging culture, historical processes of extraction and colonization, and the aftermath of ecological devastation left in the wake of logging in the 19th and 20th centuries. The talk will take place in Krause Recital Hall on the second floor of DVAA, 37 Main St., Narrowsburg.
Celebrate ten years of The Western with a special anniversary party opening the entire building and unveiling the restored Grand Ballroom with a ribbon cutting and champagne toast. The evening features line dancing led by Sarah East Johnson of Outta Line, a preview of Burlesque at The Western hosted by Miss Emma, and DJs throughout the night. Enjoy Roscoe beer tastings, craft cocktails, the Hatty Wagon custom hat bar, prizes for your Western best, a welcome drink, passed bites, and a champagne toast. Tables are available for the show. DVAA’s 50th Anniversary re-staging of Our Town, directed by Greg Triggs, assembles a cast of talented local actors to bring Thornton Wilder’s 1938 Pulitzer-Prize winning play for four dates in October. The 1975 local production, which formed part of the Narrowsburg’s Bicentennial celebrations, lay the groundwork for DVAA’s founding in 1976. This ambitious re-staging will bring the community together once again to enjoy this classic celebration of small-town life. Tickets here.

The Ruffed Grouse Gallery presents Lisa Gartner: Color TV, the debut exhibition of self-taught artist Lisa Gartner (b. 1970, Hawaii). Living and working in Parksville, New York, and New York City, Gartner creates remarkably convincing ceramic sculptures of everyday objects - from snack foods and toiletries to household items and personal effects. On View through Nov. 1.
Pulling up outside the gallery for one day only is self-taught sculptor Jo Cunningham’s The Freak Family Roadshow - a traveling sculptural sideshow housed inside a restored 1950s trailer. Inspired by underground comics created by Cunningham’s father in the 1980s, the immersive installation follows a gorilla mother, alien father, and their strange hybrid child through an eccentric domestic world that is equal parts roadside attraction, outsider art, and meditation on family and otherness. Free and open to all.
