In celebration of Avani Patel’s exhibition Rhythmic Allure (on view through October 26), the artist and jazz musician Kazzrie Jaxen will discuss improvisation, color, expression, and the connections between their creative practices. Following the talk, guests are invited upstairs to Krause Recital Hall for a Dreaming in Music session, where Kazzrie will perform on the grand piano as Avani lies beneath it, transforming her paintings into a live, improvised experience.
